Hello! My name is Courtney Wilson. I am currently enrolled as a freshman at Agnes Scott College. I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. For the nine years of grammar school, I studied Mandarin Chinese, and learned about the culture, the language, and had the opportunity to travel to China as a part of an exchange program. During the summer of 2017, I was selected to participate in the University of Chicago summer program StarTalk which was an immersive Chinese program. During my high school years,  I was a student at Kenwood Academy. While there I was able to build upon my passions, and enjoy a new found self confidence and maturity I developed as I transitioned from middle school to high school. I entered high school with a can-do, and driven/goal oriented mindset. During high school, I participated on the Varsity Girls Swim Team, was a member of the Concert Choir, National Honors Society, and revived an old club and became the president of it (Natural Hair Club).  I have work experience as a lifeguard, and student election judge.  At the end of my junior year of high school, I was nominated for the Posse Scholarship. Through a long and challenging interview process, I was awarded the scholarship in December of 2019. During college I plan on majoring in Creative Writing, and a self declared Film and Business double major in hopes of pursuing a career in screenwriting, or becoming a showrunner.
